Vocational Instructor – Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Structures Job at Okanagan College – in Kelowna, BC
The duties and responsibilities of a Vocational Instructor include continuing excellence in one’s field, instructional
and professional duties, professional development and service.
Education and Experience
A valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (Maintenance “M1”/“M2” or Structures “S” rating).
An undergraduate degree and post-secondary teaching experience are preferred; however, applicants with an equivalent combination of teaching and work experience may be considered. Aviation teaching experience would be an asset.
An Instructor’s Diploma or valid BC Teacher’s Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment is preferred, and will be required following appointment in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
Six to ten years recent relevant experience in some or all of the following:
- Fixed wing background or experience on general aviation and/or large transport category aircraft
- Rotary experience in Bell 204/205/206/ or Airbus AS350 aircraft
- Aircraft structural repair experience related to sheet metal, composite, wood/fabric and Boeing aircraft structural designs.

Job Specific Competencies
Instructors in the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Structures program are required to have their M1, M2 and/or S license(s).

Based on program schedule. Not to exceed Monday to Friday, 30 hours per week.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
Salary placement is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
