LMI seeks a Visual Observer to support a federal program management office in Grand Forks, ND.

Responsibilities:
The visual observer was instituted to meet requirements for situational awareness during unmanned aircraft (UA) launch and recovery operations, pursuant to FAA-issued Certificates of Authorization (COA)

A deployed visual observer is required for all takeoffs and full-stop landings, as well as for all planned practice approaches, touch-and-go landings, and stop-and-go landings conducted as part of any CBP UAS training syllabus

The visual observer must have visual situational awareness of airfield and flight pattern conditions and be able to communicate those conditions via direct communication with the UA pilot

Provide collision avoidance information to the pilot of the CBP Predator-B UA

This position requires an FAA Class 2 Medical Certification

Qualifications:
High School Diploma required

An FAA Class 2 Medical Certification is required for this position

Individual must submit to a CBP BI; a favorably adjudicated BI will be required to maintain this position

Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
