Position objectives and position summary

Join the team effort in the underwriting of Aviation business globally, help maintaining the current book and produce new business

Learn about aviation insurance and analyse the business until own responsibility for a customer segment is assigned

Assist the team in developing marketing plans; identify, analyse and pursue growth opportunities

Complete all underwriting processes and ensure business workflows are maintained

Develop and cultivate a network to brokers and original clients

After some experience is gained underwrite the portfolio within own authority, initiate referrals where necessary

Origination responsibility for the Aviation services and ensuring global bottom- and top-line results for the assigned client(s).

Cooperate with other supporting functions e.g. Claims, Finance, Business Services etc…

Main tasks/activities

Client focus

Develops and maintain a strategic dialogue with client and brokers

Establish a network to producers and clients

Develops and ensure an action plan aligning the client’s strategic priorities with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions capabilities.

Negotiates with brokers

Keeps contact with global client manager for selected strategic key accounts

Business focus

Develops new business opportunities;

Analyses business using existing tools combined with underwriting judgement

Steers and coordinates marketing activities for assigned client(s)

Constantly look for other areas and segments to engage in

Leadership and Management

Ensures and promotes regular communication within internal client team as well as externally to clients.

Good interpersonal, intercultural and social skills (communication, persuasiveness, team spirit)

Energised and a “self-starter”, able and willing to take initiative and implement measures in a goal-oriented manner

Compliance and Controlling

Ensures compliance with all SR guidelines, underwriting and pricing parameters,

best practices as well as Code of Conduct.

Ensures accuracy and reliability of financial reporting for assigned clients.

Ensures that relevant Group, Divisional and BU deadlines are met.

Job requirements

University degree or equivalent with a strong business component.

Knowledge of aviation or insurance is beneficial but not a must

Broad background encompassing several functions in an international

environment.

Very good sales and negotiation skills, customer focused approach

Team player, willing to learn the business and apply it in daily interactions

Willingness to travel

Good numeracy skills, good PC and software skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with preferably knowledge of other languages.

Open-minded, trustworthy and enthusiastic.

At ease with leaving the comfort zone and performing under pressure with deadlines.

Ability to successfully manage conflicts
