UH 60 Avionics Mechanic Tech Level I Job at Fort Benning, GA in Fort Benning, GA

Position Summary:
The Avionics Mechanic performs maintenance and repair actions on the UH-60 avionics and electrical sub-systems. Ensures aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight. He / She performs maintenance, inspections, and servicing requirements in accordance with approved technical data and all applicable program and service guidance. Maintains and updates aircraft records and status within the program’s maintenance system. Keeps the maintenance staff updated on aircraft status. Performs other duties as assigned by the Site Maintenance Lead.

Meet goals to fulfill contract specifications.

Provides technical guidance and assistance to flight crews regarding observed discrepancies and malfunctions.

Performs inspection, and maintenance on aircraft avionics and electrical systems as required.

Interface with Program Site and MAG Lead Mechanic.

Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Performs work in complex conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all-weather, day and night operations.

Performs and/or assists with aircrew briefings and debriefings.

Understands maintenance forms/historical records and ensures they are accurate, up to date, and complete.

Perform daily hangar cleaning as needed.

Maintain professional attire, appearance, and work environment in accordance with MAG Aerospace standards.

Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity of moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current.

Able to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and comply with OSHA standards.

May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.

Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts/ wiring.

Must be able to walk and stand on level and/ or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.

Must be able to climb stairs, ramps ladders, and work stands.

All final candidates hired must successfully pass a Drug and Alcohol Testing and a background check.

All final candidates hired must be authorized to work in the United States.

Ability to perform individual assignments as directed; establish and maintain effective work relationships

Working knowledge and experience in reading, comprehending, and interpreting technical documents, including manuals, and technical data.

Excellent written and oral communications skills and technical presentation skills.

During training and throughout the employment period, the individual must demonstrate and maintain proficiency in understanding aircraft systems, components, and operating limitations as well as understanding and complying with regulations and policies and aircraft operations and repair manuals.

Must have a thorough knowledge of hand tools, hardware, and equipment used in the maintenance of aircraft.

Ability to perform individual assignments as directed

Ability to perform general hangar activities such as aircraft towing, weight and balance, etc.

Must possess reliability, communication skills, workmanship, and good judgment

Formal training or certificate requirements for completion of high school or equivalent and/or U.S. military technical schools or specialized training course

Candidates shall have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience with documented training on UH-60 sub-systems relevant to the assigned duty position.

Must have at least six months experience in the inspection, servicing or maintenance of aircraft systems within the last 24 months.
