PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Amadeus are in the process of expanding the airport footprint globally, powered by the Amadeus Cloud Use Service (ACUS), a next-gen Microsoft Azure based Common Use platform for airports and airlines. To support us on this journey, we are looking to strengthen our team with highly skilled and motivated individuals, who are as passionate about improving the airport passenger experience as we are.

Your main tasks will be the integration of airline DCS systems into ACUS, as well as research, design and development of software components for ACUS. Future engagements may include development tasks for the Amadeus Biometrics Integrator – a cloud native integration platform between airlines, airports, biometric providers and any source of passenger data and/or Amadeus Smart Message – a cloud native baggage source message distribution system.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Analyse specifications:

  • Define user requirements for the development of new (or upgrade of existing) software solutions.”

Design systems and code:

  • Design and implement interfaces and middleware software for the integration of Amadeus Airport IT products into the airport/aviation industry and operating environments.
  • Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
  • Propose viable technical solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.
  • Model, design and implements databases.

Consult with customer and Product Management concerning maintenance and product evolution of software system.

Test and maintain the software:

  • Conduct unit, package and performance tests and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.
  • Participate in the validation phase of the product cycle, fine-tuning when necessary to finalize the product.
  • Support the customer by debugging existing solutions in collaboration with Product Manager or Product Definition Analyst”

Diagnoses and resolves software and hardware problems.

Document your work:

  • Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.”

Work in an agile team:

  • Participate to SCRUM activities and work with agile mindset and with expertise of the agile tools (Jira, bitbucket)”

BUSINESS UNDERSTANDING

  • Basic knowledge of airport and airline operations.
  • General knowledge of Amadeus fundamentals: history, business, offer, strategy, technology and organization.
  • Specific knowledge of Common Use capabilities (CUPPS, AEA/ITS standards)
  • Knowledge of industry peripherals and hardware (boarding pass printers, bag tag printers, scanners etc.)

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Aviation industry experience is a bonus.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B. S.) in Computer Science.

SKILLS

Computing:

  • Back-end development (Java, Spring framework, C++, C#)
  • Front-end development (e.g. Angular, HTML5/CSS/JavaScript)
  • Scripting (Python, PowerShell or equivalent)
  • MS Windows (Client/Server)
  • RDBMS experience (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Experience in working with Atlassian products
  • Experience in handling GIT, Stash, Maven, Ant and Jira to implement release processes, build configurations and development tools.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD approach (Groovy, Jenkins)
  • DevOps capabilities (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible AWX) is a plus
  • MS Azure, AWS knowledge is a plus
  • TCP/IP Communication knowledge is a plus

retaining compatibility with enterprise and solution architectures.

  • Capacity to install additional hardware, software or sub system components into an existing or proposed system.

To comply with established processes and procedures, taking into account the specification, capacity and

compatibility of existing and new modules to ensure integrity and interoperability. To verify system performance

and ensures formal sign off and documentation of successful integration.

Professional skills:

  • Macro competency including all methods and procedures used during the software development process.
  • The ability to use the Root Cause Analysis method by ascertaining and analysing the cause of problems to

determine how these problems can be solved or be prevented from occurring. Process to help stakeholders to

understand causes of a problem well enough to achieve permanent resolution of that problem.

Soft:

  • Ability to stay focused and provide quality solutions in time critical operational situations.
  • Ability to express ideas and opinions clearly, define messages and reach a common understanding of issues, addressing the audience effectively.
  • Ability to produce oral and written communications which are clear, fluent and concise.
