The Treasury and Investment Accounting Analyst will manage accounting and reporting activities ensuring the accuracy and consistency of underlying data, and to liaise with external and internal customers to formulate and implement policy.
The position is part of QBE’s Group Treasury and Investment Accounting function and will actively contribute to the achievement of Group Finance objectives and act as key business partner to support Group Treasury, Group Investments and Divisional Finance teams in relation to investment accounting.
Key accountabilities will include:
Ensuring stakeholders have access to timely, accurate and complete investment accounting data to fulfil reporting obligations and aid decision making (i.e. Group Treasury, Group Investments’ Management (GI), Group Finance and QBE Divisional Finance teams).
Supporting the end-to-end investment accounting process including implementation of new investment strategies and portfolio activities as well as playing an active role in month end accounting process and reporting, quarter end and half-year and year-end reporting periods.
Demonstrating technical expertise in accounting for treasury products and investments and related disclosures, actively engaging and supporting stakeholders to identify and address accounting and reporting issues, offering practical alternatives to address problems and offer innovative solutions.
Monitoring the effectiveness of Treasury and Investment Accounting controls and implementing change where required, documenting processes and judgements to the highest levels.
Provide analysis and insights into investment income and investment balance sheet movements including identifying key driver.
