Training and Standards Coordinator Job at Wasaya Airways – in Thunder Bay, ON
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain and work from the Wasaya Ramp Operations Manual, Ground Icing Operations Manual
Responsible for establishing and assisting with the Company operational training and standards that every base is required to maintain.
Develop and document operational ramp standards, policies and procedures and produce a manual and schedule of required training
. Developing training programs – train all ramp staff before they begin their first shift and develop a matrix to enforce ongoing compliance with Training and Standards.
Develop and deliver initial and recurrent testing and qualifying events for ramp staff according to a training matrix.
Audit ongoing compliance with the Training and Standards manual.
Ability to travel and overnight at remote bases.
Design and deliver approved training and programs effectively using the Microsoft Office suite of products.
Arrange and outsource, if necessary, trainers to assist in the delivery of training programs.
Identify and work with experienced internal employees to deliver courses.
Monitor and audit courses delivered by both internal and external resources to ensure quality and effectiveness.
Identify and arrange for, in consultation with the Department Head, more specialized training where required.
Work with Flight Operations, Maintenance and SMS departments to facilitate the necessary standardized training in all Departments.
Maintaining training records in accordance with the Company’s training policy.
Ability to travel, teach and present effectively using power point, use of excel, use of word
Report to the Company on an as needed (daily) basis.
Attend training seminars, train the trainer events and professional development courses as needed.
Conduct Training Audits when and as needed to ensure all standards are met.
Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers
Skills and Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum College Diploma and/or equivalent experience in supervision/management.
Previous airline operations/training experience is an asset
Minimum 1-year previous experience in product development and/or training and teaching
Must have valid driver’s license with clean abstract.
Must have clean criminal record check available.
Must have current Airport Restricted Area Pass (RAIC) or the ability to hold one.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to speak, write and understand the English language.
Must have excellent team player competencies.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision, and/or in a team environment working varied hours and on call.
Must be willing to travel for professional development courses.
Adaptable to the changing nature of aviation.
Must be able to communicate all concerns to senior management.
Maintain a professional and experienced level of service with all Wasaya customers.
Solid understanding Microsoft Office, Windows, and proprietary computer programs
Excellent keyboarding and admin skills are essential
. Prior classroom and online training experiences are an asset.
Must have excellent operational skills.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
Ability to lift up to 70lbs
Overtime as required
Weekend work may be required
Some overnight travel for multiple days at a time to Stations will be required
May be exposed to high levels of noise, dust, fumes and oils
Indoor and outdoor work is required in all weather conditions
Completion of a satisfactory criminal record check
