Job Overview And ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Representative Cargo Operations Safety is responsible for development of and conformity to United Manuals in accordance with all regulations and standards, and adherence to all federal requirements pertaining to the division’s SMS program. This includes field audits with Cargo Safety and Regulatory Compliance to ensure compliance and safety.kimberly walls
Cargo Policy
Draft cargo policy updates and procedural communications
Complete and maintain manual change submissions
Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all cargo manuals meet United, Industry and Regulatory standards
Act as a subject matter expert for operational or technological continuous improvement projects
Cargo Safety
Conduct division Safety Risk Assessments to determine existent current risk levels within the operation
Train operational teams to United standards for SMS comprehension and execution
Learn and understand cargo’s changing business needs and implement mitigations to modify existing risk experienced in operations
Identify, collect and analyze pertinent safety data to determine priority, relevance and actions relating to operational risk existing in cargo locations worldwide
Cargo Quality Control
Conduct periodic system audits based on prioritization from analytical work
Support Warehouse openings and transitions
Identify, and analyze pertinent data to determine priority, relevance and actions relating to auditing of cargo locations worldwide
Drive system compliance and safety
Required
Associates degree or equivalent operational experience
4 years cargo operations, warehouse, logistics experience or related
1 year safety management systems
2 years drafting and driving policy
Cargo, freight, warehouse, logistics
Safety, safety programs, safety systems relating to cargo and warehouse
Ability to clearly communicate through multiple means (verbal, written)
Abillity to interpret technical documents
MS Applications
Ability to complete data analysis on limited datasets
Drive performance and solutions
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
Bachelors Degree in Aviation, Safety Logistics Mangement or equivalent operational experience
2+ years SMS experience
2 years cargo operations leadership experience
Spotfire, SQL experience
Dangerous Goods
Qualified for methods of cargo security search
USPS operational knowledge or related
Customs knowledge
SMS risk knowledge
Cargo Warehosse Operational skills
Warehouse or cargo system
EtQ user experience
Experience drating policy
