Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, economics, political science, engineering, computer science, or another quantitative discipline; Master’s degree is a plus
Familiarity with one of the following required the U.S. Defense Budget and Defense Industry, commercial aviation, space (government or commercial), software/IT or Government services
1+ years of consulting or analytic experience
Experience using MS Excel for model building and problem solving
Demonstrated Power-point skills and the willingness to improve upon and employ those skills directly with teams on demanding timelines
Willingness to learn and improve analytics skills
Strong communication skills, writing and problem solving, interpersonal effectiveness and leadership potential
Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset
Ability to grasp and communicate complex ideas clearly
Professional attitude and service orientation
Team player capable of working well with others but also autonomously with limited direction
Willingness to travel
What You’ll Do
You will develop and deliver high-end analytic driven consulting services on strategy, market analysis and cost estimates for both the internal and external clients, as well as conduct bespoke analyses, focused on the US and international aerospace and defense markets, for the Rapid Aerospace and Defense Analytics and Reporting (RADAR) team.
In this role you will work with leading aerospace and defense organizations, tackling topics central to the CEO agenda such as pipeline development, R&D planning, operational performance improvement, and investment strategies. As part of the broader industry ecosystem, your efforts will also help some of the world’s leading private equity firms identify, understand, and pursue acquisitions & divestiture in this sector.
You will also spend time developing proprietary ‘big data’ analytical tools. You will be an integral part of the firm’s client service offerings, complementing our existing teams to provide in-depth budgetary and industry insights, and scale up McKinsey’s global benchmarking capabilities.

Who You’ll Work With
You will be based in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, or Washington, D.C and will be part of our Rapid Aerospace and Defense Analytics and Reporting (RADAR) team.
In your role as Solution Delivery Analyst, you will operate both remotely and on-site as needed in support of teams of McKinsey professionals directly serving clients and engage in problem solving, structuring, modeling and analytic support for our core industry assessment approaches, tools and analysis. You’ll have the opportunity to develop deep expertise with the defense analysis platform and facilitate efforts associated with client development, training, and support and will leverage and apply RADAR directly for your client support activities.
