Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, economics, political science or engineering, computer science or another quantitative discipline; master’s degree preferred
5+ years of consulting or analytic experience with particular emphasis on model building, benchmarking and forecasting
Knowledge and working experience within the commercial aviation industry
Demonstrated experience in researching, analyzing and reporting on commercial aviation trends highly desired
Demonstrated PowerPoint skills; willingness to improve upon and employ those skills directly with teams on demanding timelines
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal effectiveness; demonstrated ability to lead small teams
Commercial and entrepreneurial mindset
Professional attitude and service orientation
Team player capable of working well with others but also autonomously with limited direction
Ability to grasp and communicate complex ideas clearly
Willingness to travel
What You’ll Do
You will lead the development of the RADAR commercial aviation asset and its delivery on projects, and engage with clients and McKinsey consultants in joint problem-solving sessions.
You will be responsible for managing multiple project streams at the same time while being at the core of helping solve our clients’ most pressing challenges with our RADAR commercial aviation tools and capabilities. You will be part of the team that converts public and proprietary data into algorithms required to forecast commercial aviation activities and market demand, and benchmark MRO and other costs. You will also develop a deep understanding of commercial aviation market dynamics including demand-driven fleet trends, maintenance and operations costs in order to clearly articulate results and insights to external clients and internal colleagues. You are simultaneously a business lead and a data scientist – an expert in both areas.
You will work both independently and as part of a team to engage clients and drive sustainable and high impact. You will engage with clients on a regular basis to discuss methodology, assumptions, results, implications and provide on-going expertise as questions arise. You will actively participate in problem solving sessions with clients and consultants.

Who You’ll Work With
You will be based in our Dallas, Denver, or Washington DC office.
You will coordinate the activities of researchers, data engineers and software engineers to maintain, improve and expand the RADAR commercial aviation asset. You will also operate both remotely and on-site as needed in support of teams of McKinsey professionals directly serving clients. You will also be responsible for contributing to, building and maintaining the knowledge base that underpin our models and tools.
