Job Description SummaryThe Senior Sourcing Supplier Development Leader will be responsible for driving structured problem solving, leading continuous improvement activities, and improving overall supplier capability. Supplier capability engagements will include assessing supplier growth and improvement areas operationally and technically and driving supplier development activities including lean training and kaizen at suppliers and assisting in the creation of supplier development (action) plans. You will evaluate cost out opportunities and manufacturing processes utilizing lean manufacturing tools.

This role will require 35%-50% travel.

This Role Is Eligible For Remote Work. Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:As the Senior Sourcing Supplier Development Leader, key responsibilities will include:

Represent GE with external suppliers; build and use these relationships to improve adoption of GE initiatives at the supplier

Deliver GE and industry updates with supplier leadership teams

Triage supplier performance and executions issues, diagnosing primary contributors and root cause, then leading the supplier through a structured problem-solving approach

Work in a team environment to develop processes, tools, and training needed for supplier improvement in performance and execution

Partner with supplier resources to develop plans to improve their overall capability

Write and help execute supplier development plans

Review and improve supplier manufacturing processes

Develop strategies to meet the quality, fulfillment, and productivity requirements of the business

Have authority within the network of experts and in project teams

Manage cost reduction projects

Present product / program strategies, Sourcing roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders (EB and SEB) across GE

Input and influence decisions within own discipline and area

Communicate recommendations and solutions across direct organization and with cross-functional partner organizations

Involved in complex decision making, sometimes with external parties

Regularly advise management in the function and/or in the business

Has a supportive role in decision making about important strategy and subjects

Act frequently as a project leader in projects involving the business and other functions


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of supply chain, manufacturing shop experience or similar)

Plus a minimum of 5 years supply chain, manufacturing shop experience or similar
