Job DescriptionYour role in helping us shape the future:Join an innovative team that is responsible for driving Intelsat General Communication’s (IGC) vision by leading cross-functional teams through all phases of Program Management including program capture, planning, execution, and delivery of critical capabilities to the warfighter. You will coordinate and collaborate with professional, experienced, and highly matrixed teams across the organization to achieve program objectives on schedule and within budget. Are you up to the challenge?

Lead Program Management activity for assigned programs partnering with Business Development, Product Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to deliver on time, within budget, and meet performance requirements

Coordinate preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statements of Work, specifications, operating budgets, and contract terms and conditions

Apply formal change management practices that ensure programs are baselined at kickoff and all changes are thoroughly reviewed for justification, impact to the program and have received appropriate approvals

Develop and report comprehensive program reports, schedules, metrics, risk matrix, and execute Customer and IGC internal program reviews

Develop specific courses of action in capture planning and program execution that yield predictable results and profitable return on investment

Gain and maintain high trust and confidence with customers, IGC leadership, and program teams regarding matters of substantial importance to the government and IGC

Manage multiple concurrent programs varying in size and complexity while rapidly adjusting to changing priorities

You should definitely have:

Bachelor’s degree

At least 7 years of program management experience focused on program management across complex and dynamic organizational and technological environments

Experience leading defense related programs, with demonstrated success in transitioning them to programs of record, in partnership with US government stakeholders and industry partners

Experience in government contracting practices, Earned Value Management System and standard program reporting metrics

Strong technical and business background to evaluate and adjust win strategies, and proactively make recommendations to leadership

Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders, set direction and approach, mobilize and motivate teams and execute with limited information and ambiguity

Proven problem-solving skills to anticipate the risks of non-performance and incorporate prevention and remediation measures within the implementation plan

Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills

U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level

Fluency with MS Office tools, Visio, MS Project

Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% to meet the needs of the business

It would be nice if you had:

Addtiional years of program manager experience

Master’s degree

Demonstrated understanding of technology-based product lifecycle management, including development, launch and management phases, and primary roles/responsibilities and deliverables of key organizational functions

Certification in program management (PMI)
