Security & Safety Compliance Manager

We are seeking a Security, Health, Safety and Environment manager to support our Head of Global Business Management in leading people focused safety initiatives to enable a safe working environment for all of our DGM sites. You will support leading the key safety objectives for DGM and play a leading part in implementing our safety strategy and vision. The person in this role will lead on Health and Safety and also the continued development, practices and procedures to deliver SHSE excellence and compliance.

This role is based in Colnbrook in the United Kingdom.

General Accountabilities:
Manage Health, Safety, Environment & Security throughout the business, multi-site responsibilities

Identify and manage directly day to day risks at every DGM site, holistically reduce/minimise/stop

Provide day to day Safety, Health and Security assistance and advice to enable the DGM sites to comply with relevant statutory legislation

Write Company policies & procedures, SSOW, Risk Assessment & Management System for the business and implement with Operations Management Team

Complete supplier/customer pre-qualification questionnaire/preparing appropriate company policies in line with industry standards

Review current/update/continually improve policies

Keep current/new qualifications valid through qualification

Assist with the development, implementation and communication of all relevant SHE policies at the DGM sites.

Meet annual Safety, Health and Environmental objectives

Assist the Global Business Management function in delivering the SHE business plan

Coordinate and assist the Safety, Health and Environmental initiatives at the DGM sites.

Lead the development of our H&S framework, that includes monitoring performance against objectives and providing further enhancement to our H&S plan

Take the lead on a new pro-active Health and Safety culture

Plan, write and deliver new safety training to the DGM Team

Providing operational support and personal development

Drive safety improvements by lessons learnt and best practice

Provide monthly operational updates for monthly board review

Implement robust monitoring, audit and reporting on performance, training and compliance

Manage training requirements

Providing a support service to 3rd party logistics safety teams

Support key internal stakeholders with safety assistance

Creating safety roll out plans for new territories, ahead of go-live

Support the evolution of DGM’s plans to achieve sizeable improvements in current culture

Aid and shadow all landlord & insurers audits and inspections

Evolve the induction program for new starters and contractors

Enhance the electronic documented process for all our operations

Continually review work processes and ensure they are aligned to our safety working procedures

Assist with accident/incident investigations, create remedial work plans and ensure these are seen through to completion

Organise, participate and lead safety team meetings

Ensuring compliance with Aviation Security protocols and processes and documentation thereof

Notify, liaise and consult with relevant external authorities

Give further enhancement to our current contractor controls for all business areas

Support crisis, incident and Business Continuity Planning management

Contribute to projects and ensure that all H&S risk is adequately managed

Responsible for ensuring that an Aviation Security Program, together with its implementation, meets all legal provisions.

Implement the National Aviation Security Programme (NASP) effectively

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30am – 5:30pm

Your Profile – Skillsets and Attributes

You should hold a minimum of a IOSH Health & Safety Management diploma, ideally have a NEBOSH diploma in OHS or a Level 5 NVQ in Occupational Health & Safety

You should hold a minimum of an Aviation Security Manager Level 3 Course diploma (DfT)

You should have previous experience of working in safety in environments for offices and logistics

Previous practical experience in the creation, implementation and monitoring of H&S management systems

Sound knowledge of COVID-19 and the implementation for operational environments

Extensive experience in Aviation security procedures and protocols

Have experience of leading a team in a multi-site business

Ideally a relevant HSE and Aviation Security qualification would be advantageous

A high level of problem solving with policy adherence

Excellent communication and influencing skills

Be able to deal with demanding situations

Remain objective and focus on the wider outcome

Stay positive when times get tough

Able to lead and manage change

Results orientated and tenacious

A willingness to travel widely, primarily, inside the UK
