We are looking for a Security Concierge Officer to join us at a unique site based in London.

Please note this is only open to WJ employees.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess situations to recognize, assess and intervene appropriately with visitors and staff entering the reception area.
  • Actively welcome visitors and staff to the office, in an appropriate manner, to build relationships and identify regular visitors and office users.
  • Proactively apply Samsara’s security policy and requirements to maintain a secure environment.
  • Act as an interface between the landlord security and reception team alongside Samsara’s reception.
  • Proactively check for ID badges being displayed in and around the office and reception area.
  • Review, disseminate, and action relevant threat/risk intelligence
  • Deter, detect and deny the unauthorized or unlawful activity.
  • Act as an initial point of reference for staff and visitors who need assistance or information.
  • Understand staff and visitors’ needs and provide them with personalized solutions.
  • Acquire extensive knowledge of the premises and the nearby venues and businesses.
  • Provide directions, assistance, and advice pertaining to the building and surrounding neighborhood.
  • Be discrete and honest.
  • Be proactive, anticipating and responding to requests.
  • Generate reports on the volumes of visitors and the general requests received.
  • Operate electronic security systems – access control, visitor management, video management, meeting room reservations, reporting tools as required.

Shifts/Hours: Mon-Fri – 60hrs – 06:30 to 18:30 Monday to Friday, no bank holiday working Salary: £13.00 *Please note that if you a current employee of Wilson James, that you must ensure you have informed your line manager of your application*

Essential Skills

  • Physically fit to sustain long periods of standing and walking
  • Emotionally intelligent, adaptive, and innovative thinker.
  • Experience in having to ‘read’ people or situations.
  • Understanding of relational service provision.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate.
  • Able to project personality and establish presence and temper accordingly.
  • Seek to drive operational excellence and quality assurance by providing best practices, problem-solving, and guidance within their area of responsibility.
  • Proficient in the entire Microsoft Office 365 suite including OneDrive, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for use in reporting.
  • Proven experience in front line/front of house roles
  • Possession of or able to complete national security licensing requirements.
  • 5-star customer service background – airline, hotel or similar of high-end brand
  • Ability to pass background verification including criminal records check.
  • English language essential, multi-lingual preferred.
  • Industry training / CPD in customer service/hospitality

SIA licence DS/SG

All security personnel are required to be vetted in accordance with Guidelines on Security Screening (BS7858) covering a period of five years. Failure to accurately and fully disclose work history may be detrimental to gaining employment with Wilson James. You will need to be able to evidence a minimum of 5 year’s written work history – this evidence needs to include any gaps of over 31 days and periods of self-employment.

Successful candidates will be vetted by Wilson James before employment is confirmed. Wilson James take the vetting process extremely seriously and have a dedicated team who validate employment and investigate gaps. For this, candidates who are invited for an interview must be able to provide a full 5 year or back to school work history, accounting for any gaps and proof of right to work, address and SIA DS licence.

Failure to provide this evidence will result in Wilson James not being able to comply with the BS7858 Standard (the British Standards Institution for screening individuals employed in a security environment) and therefore no offer of employment is able to be made.
