GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Tyonek’s winning Business Development and Proposal Team is looking for an Aviation Maintenance SME to serve as a Technical Writer for proposals. Your unique perspective and writing skills will be a critical piece to the team preparing winning proposals. You will have support from Tyonek’s program and proposal professionals throughout the proposal process. You will help serve as a solution developer and will be a critical part of the proposal team.

DUTIES:

Review and analyze solicitation documents (e.g., RFP, Requests for Information [RFI]; Sources Sought requests, Performance Work Statements [PWS], Statements of Objectives [SOO], Statements of Work [SOW], and supporting technical documentation pertinent to the solicitation) for assigned proposal sections.

Work with subject matter experts to develop the solution and strategy, approach to perform the work, and strengths and discriminators of selected approaches.

Conduct research to develop solutions, technical approaches, and proposal content.

Interview experts to gather required information to support solution development and writing.

Capture, shape, and synthesize information into proposal narratives that are compliant to the solicitation requirements and proposal compliance matrix.

Translate highly technical information and into clear, impactful, and grammatically correct narratives.

Write technical and management approaches, plans, past performance volumes, and executive summaries.

Prepare concept sketches for graphic illustrations and coordinate with graphic artists to ensure assure that graphics support and enhance narratives.

Serve on color review teams.

Format, edit, and proof proposal documents to prepare deliverables that meet corporate and industry publication standards.

Prepare responses to Evaluation Notices (EN) and requests for clarification.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree (preferred in SME field or English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing) or equivalent (Associate’s degree + 2 years of relevant experience or 5 years of experience in aerospace field).

5+ years of experience in proposal writing for federal contract opportunities.

Adept at translating technical concepts into language that is understandable by non-technical readers.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Acrobat Pro, and SharePoint Online.

We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

DESIRED:

Working knowledge of US Air Force, US Navy, US Army, and/or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) maintenance manuals, instructions, procedures, and processes to include Contractor’s Flight and Ground Operations, and DCMA Instruction 8210.1 series.

Subject matter expert in the requirements associated with organizational-, intermediate-, and depot-level maintenance activities.

Understanding of Quality Assurance programs, aviation safety and associated hazards, foreign object damage and tool control procedures, and supply support to maintenance activities.

Program support experience including development of the basis of estimate.

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
