Production Supervisor Job at AIR Recruitment – in Newcastle NSW

Our client is an award winning and highly respected global organisation specialising in design and manufacture of a wide range of engineering and fabrication works across global defence, commercial, industrial, aviation and health industries.

Due to growth and internal movement an opportunity exists for an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team and assist with the day to day management of the workshop, provide leadership and guidance whilst meeting quality, production, safety and operational targets.

The role:
Reviewing job requirements and scheduling resources to meet specifications, deliveries and product requirements.

Ordering parts and equipment required for production activities.

Planning and prioritising production sequences for products.

Preparing planned job instructions to control production and demonstrate achievement of product specifications.

Day to day workshop supervision (approx 20 staff)

Employee training; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Resolving operational/maintenance issues to minimise costs and delays and arrange equipment maintenance to ensure process conformity and maximum availability.

Producing or updating working practices and ensuring compliance.

Updating administrative records for invoicing and recording despatches.

Producing quotations for company products and liaison with company and client personnel during negotiations

Other duties may be expected or assigned as required according to company activities

Complying with Company Work Health & Safety and Quality Management system requirements.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Demonstrate ability to follow and comply WHSE legislation.

Demonstrate the ability to motivate and drive staff to deliver agreed production targets whilst controlling the quality of the product,

A high level of mechanical aptitude, reading drawings, troubleshoots quality issues, interpretation of standards and specifications.

Have excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills and a high level of commitment to work effectively in a multi-skilled, fast paced environment,

Excellent written and oral communication skills,

Effectively communicate with suppliers, customers & staff.

Licences required – Vehicle.

Trade qualified in Light & heavy metal fabrication

Computer and Microsoft package experience, including raising of purchase orders and developing production packages.

White card.

Site work supervision may be required at times.

Highly self motivated

Team player

Desirable Requirements:
Cert IV Frontline Management

Proficient with the use of computers including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Business Craft Computer package experience (favourable)

Confined Space Certificate (non-essential)

Forklift ticket (non-essential)

Working at heights ticket (non-essential)

Welding inspector basic certification (non-essential)

Benefits:
Full-time permanent position

Salary $87k + super

Monday to Friday with minimal overtime
