Eaton’s Aerospace Group, Interconnect Technology Division (ITD) is currently seeking a Product Engineering Manager to join our team.This position is based at our Camarillo, CA facility.

Position OverviewThe Product Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers working on internal research and development, new product development, sustaining engineering/ongoing production, product manufacturing transitions and cost out projects, and new business proposals. This person will be responsible for managing project engineering work from initial scoping through implementation, and communicates expectations, plans, and requirement to employees and stakeholders. They will help coordinate all work within the scope of assigned projects and manages scope change working alongside project managers. This role will also oversee a team of engineers working on military/commercial electrical wiring systems and associated components, as well as mechanical hold down/release mechanism devices.

In This Role, You Will

Leads teams in the design/analysis/sustaining engineering for electrical wiring interconnect systems (EWIS) and related components used in aerospace, industrial, and military applications.

Leads engineers assigned to global, cross functional teams and manufacturing locations to support production/product launch and transfers. This includes manufacturing locations in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

Manages teams responsible for, or directly leads, communication with customer engineering teams.

Manages teams responsible for product and document changes captured through Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s), leveraging Eaton’s Product Lifecycle Management system (Enovia).

Manages teams, or directly leads, technical reviews with internal and external stakeholders.

Manages teams, or directly provides, technical support to customers, suppliers, internal manufacturing engineers, and internal sales and marketing teams. This includes responsibilities for new and existing projects, assessing cost estimates (NRE), developing project schedules, developing design and instruction specifications, writing operating manuals, and authoring technical reports.

Leads teams in, or directly leads, the planning and specification of new product requirements, as well as detailed validation and verification plans working alongside a cross-functional team.

Leads teams in, or directly leads, witnessing of the testing of products.

Coordinates, or delegates coordination of, the prototype manufacturing of products and test fixturing.

Leads teams in, or directly leads, failure analysis examinations and prepares Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) of findings.

Leads teams responsible for MRB review of discrepant hardware and ultimately the assessment of functionality.

Responsible for supporting the assessment of jurisdiction and classification of hardware and technical data in accordance with ITAR and EAR.
