The Displays Center Video and Graphics FPGA/ASIC Team is searching for a Principal Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join our team. This position will be responsible for leading developments of graphics and video processing FPGAs and ASICs for display applications. Our Displays Center leads the industry with cost competitive, innovative technology that sets us apart from our competition and helps our customers make the most of their investment in our products. We are responsible for designing displays for both commercial and military avionics as well as ground vehicles.
We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations. The successful candidate will lead and manage projects to meet cost, schedule and technical performance commitments, working closely with peer engineers, program management, manufacturing, and customers. They are the single point of contact for engineering responsible for the technical leadership and project management of design & development activities, within the guidelines set by the product line, program manager, and our customers. Experience related to the design and development of FPGAs is desired, Earned Value management experience is a necessity for this role. This person will also lead customer focused activities including bids, proposals, and technical presentations.
Serve as the engineering project leader for FPGA and ASIC programs to ensure program commitments are met
Provide project management and technical direction during all program phases including pursuit, bidding, planning, and execution
Track and report cost and schedule status
Ensure compliance with Program and Product requirements as reflected in design plans
Lead wide range of entry-level to highly experienced engineers
Maintain awareness of industry trends that may impact both technical and certification compliance approaches
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR
Advance degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
Project Management skills with demonstrated ability to lead a technical project
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively document and present one’s work and status
FPGA/ASIC design and/or verification experience
Experience with DO-254 development and verification process
Strong communicator, able to interface with the spectrum of individual contributor to executive leadership
Experience managing technical projects including schedule and Earned Value management, risk management, customer interaction, and briefing executive leadership
