Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Structural Design to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. The position will be located in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to the 1st Shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) on a 3 day – 10 hours/day schedule

Essential Functions:

Develop “Design for Producibility” solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.

Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.

Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines during the development of design solutions.

Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.

Development and review of completed models, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.

Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.

Supervise design solutions from initial concept to final implementation.

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace structural design or MS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with 3 years of experience.

Experience in the design of bonded composite primary and secondary aircraft structures.

High level of proficiency using Unigraphics Nx or CATIA V5 in the development of aircraft structures and components.

This position requires a current in-scope DOD Secret Clearance as well as the ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Salary Range:92200 – 138400

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
