As the part 135 Chief Pilot at Reliable Robotics, you will lead the company’s commercial flight operations team and ensure operational compliance with all flight operations part 135 requirements. Your role will be critical in developing operational integrity from the pre-launch phase of an exciting new air carrier seeking to efficiently move people and goods.
The Chief Pilot is a critical leadership role which is responsible for managing all activities of the pilot team. These responsibilities include the development of the pilot team including training, hiring, scheduling, and aircraft operating standards. The ideal candidate would be recognized as an expert in flight operations with the ability to lead and motivate the team to deliver excellent operational performance. The Chief Pilot, Director of Maintenance, and all operational personnel report to and are accountable to the Director of Operations for all CFR Part 135 operations.

This position will be based in Albuquerque, New Mexico where the airline has commenced cargo operations flying Cessna 208’s for a major logistics integrator.
Lead the commercial flight operations department
Recruit, hire, and train new pilots according to company and operational requirements
Prepare and maintain all pilot training, flight and duty, performance records and other records as required
Ensure flight operations compliance within appropriate regulations
Establish and maintain a close working relationship with the FAA
Work with the Reliable team and the FAA to establish appropriate flight standards, develop training requirements and curricula
Work with the Director of Operations to develop the department budget and reporting
Coordinate with the Director of Operations and Director of Maintenance with timely communications for all maintenance, performance, schedules and inspections
Work closely with the Safety manager and the company to support, develop and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) program
Operate turboprop and piston aircraft as required
Act as voice of the company and promote the company business both internally and externally with vendors, OEMs and regulators

Part 119 and 135 Mandatory Qualifications
Second class medical
3 years of experience within the past 6 years as PIC for an aircraft operated under part 121 or 135
OR 3 years of experience as a Chief Pilot of an aircraft operated under part 121 or 135
Strong knowledge of FAA Regulations including flight operations under part 135
Solid understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and industry best practices
Preferred Skills and Experience
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating
Experience as a Check Airman and/or Company Instructor
Experience rolling out and managing a Safety Management System (SMS)
Extensive Cessna C208 Caravan experience preferred
Must be willing to travel up to 50% or more of the time.
