The Paint Lead reports to the Project Supervisor and is responsible for providing professional leadership of the Paint Shop and ensuring a high level of quality work and customer service. Doing so requires independent decision making, troubleshooting, planning, and organizing the work of Interior Technicians.


The Paint Shop Lead is responsible for the following key areas:


Provides day-to-day supervision of Paint shop employees to ensure that the department is running efficiently and effectively by:

· Creating and maintaining a positive work environment.

· Planning, organizing and prioritizing work.

· Ensuring accurate use of timecards and project numbers.

· Providing training and development for shop employees.

· Supporting employees in conflict resolution.

· Supporting employees in effective team interaction and personal growth.

· Ensuring safe work practices are conducted by all shop personnel and safe work conditions are present.

· Keeping the employees informed regarding company developments.


Has a complete understanding of KF Aerospace documentation requirements and applies that understanding in the following areas:

· Ensuring proper recording of maintenance information.

· Ensuring the controlled state of all maintenance documentation in the department.

· Investigating and reporting on audit findings and production issues.

· Initiating and authorizing parts requisitions.

Customer Service:

Ensuring the Interior Shop provides the best possible service to internal and external customers by:

· Ensuring proper recording of maintenance information.

· Setting a positive example for employees in providing professional efficient customer service and maintaining a calm and professional approach in urgent matters.

· Working with internal and external customers to ensure their needs are fulfilled.

· Motivating and directing employees to perform the tasks in an efficient and professional manner.

· Making recommendations and initiating alternatives to improve customer service.

· Ensuring follow up with customers is completed as required.

· Receiving and actioning customer feedback on quality and efficiency of component services provided.


· Completion of High School

· Must be physically fit and able to work from heights

· Capable of climbing ladders and stairs, working in small spaces

· Able to lift parts up to 50 lbs

· Able to work with chemicals, paint, degreasers, respirations, and latex gloves (KF Aerospace provides all personal protective equipment)

· Ability to work and communicate well with a team

· A valid Driver’s license

· Painting experience preferably aircraft

· Must hold a CAMC Aviation Painter Program Certificate

· Must hold a KFL SCA

· Demonstrate effective supervisory skills.

· Proactive problem solving and advance trouble shooting skills.

· Demonstrated planning, organizing and attention to detail capabilities.

· Basic computer skills in MS office programs.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Effective interpersonal skills.


· Must be open to working a very flexible schedule

· Shift work including days, afternoons, weekends, and occasional graveyards

· All rotations are guaranteed 80 hours per two weeks

Salary: $62,000.00-$83,000.00 per year
