Tasks and Responsibilities
The Operations Manager is a key member of the Operational Management team in the Service Centre. The primary purpose of the role is to support the Service Centre Manager providing leadership and motivation to staff. You will drive a specific area of operation, covering an AM or PM shift, within the Service Centre ensuring service; productivity; quality; security and cost targets are met and standard procedures are followed.
Manage the operational cost drivers to ensure P&L and cost targets are achieved and productivity is measured.
Ensure pick up, delivery and shipment processing services are executed in line with service, quality, productivity and cost performance standards and targets.
Ensure compliance to Global, Regional and Country processes, polices and procedures, and any local external regulatory requirements, that relate to the operational services provided.
Within financial guidelines, plan, monitor, negotiate and control expenditure on areas such as overtime, sub- contracting, suppliers, Service Providers and fleet maintenance.
Ensure compliance with DHL Security policies and procedures; H&S and Environmental Legislation; and DfT/VOSA requirements.
Maintain facility, equipment and vehicles to optimum operating conditions to ensure an efficient operation
Ensure Recruitment needs are met; conducting interviews and identifying suitable candidates for the role in which they’re applying.
Perform the Appraisal process for all team members within the agreed time frames to manage individual performance and job satisfaction.
Complete regular Performance Dialogues, 121 reviews and annual appraisals with team members
Adhere to country laws/regulations and company procedures/ standards in regard to Safety and Security
Adhere to customs / import / export procedures as applicable
Ensure any potential security breaches or concerns are brought to the attention of supervisor/manager without delay
Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00am – 5:30pm

Management CPC as the Operations Manager is directly responsible for all LGV drivers (desirable)
IATA Category 6 as the Operations Manager will be responsible for dangerous goods within their Service Centre (desirable)
Experience in an operational management/supervisory capacity
Experience/knowledge of the express logistic field
