Non-Destructive Testing Inspector – Class “B”

Montreal

As a N.D.T. Inspector – Class “B”, you will be a Level 2 certified employee as per MIL STD 410NAS410, CGSB or equivalent to apply and conduct penetrating liquid crack detection procedures.

You will perform binocular inspection as required by Rolls-Royce.

You will need to be able to recognize, interpret and evaluate indications against established standards and specifications.

In addition, you will specify repair schemes for parts deemed repairable.

You will also perform the inspection of parts by stripping after receiving the necessary instructions.

You will be required to work with a Class “A” Non-Destructive Test Inspector in the magnetic particle processes and will also be required to train and work with a Class “C” Non-destructive Test Operator in the penetrating liquid processes.

You will also be required to perform simple in-process washing and move equipment within the cell or department.

Key Accountabilities:
Following RPS929: have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.

Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method.

Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.

Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel.

Be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as used by Rolls-Royce Canada.

Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.

Have a basic knowledge of operational experience and its effects upon hardware.

Basic Requirements:
Associate degree and 7+ years’ experience in NDT methods OR

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in NDT methods OR

Master’s degree and 3+ years of NDT methods experience OR

In lieu of a degree, 9+ years NDT methods experience

Non-destructive testing technician or equivalent.

Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada

Preferred Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in NDT methods on aircraft engine components and/or industrial gas turbines or related fields.

Fluency in written and spoken French and English.

Minimum knowledge of materials, specifications, manufacturing and inspection methods, processes, ISO 9001 and 10011 standards.

Previous experience in quality system, process, NDI methods and/or product audits.

Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

Able to travel frequently.
