A-techSYN Ltd is an all-in-one solution provider for Unmanned Aviation Systems (UAS) based in Shannon, Ireland. A-techSYNs’ products consist of proprietary UAS solutions including field proven LALE Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) fixed wing UAVs and mid to high speed Target Drones.

As of 2020, A-techSYN is in the process of global expansion, forming a global marketing, resale training and MRO network with offices in EU Countries but also in the UK, Australia, Africa, Canada, USA, and South America. Products are already being used by defence, law enforcement, intelligence and civil customers on a daily basis.

A-techSYN is one of the main partners of the consortium of 3 Universities, 3 SMEs and the Irish Navy in the GUARD project which has been approved for funding as part of the Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF). (www.theguardproject.com)

The Project evolves around building the next generation Unmanned Aerial System which will be equipped with the latest technologies developed by consortium partners.

A-techSYN is building up 3 new teams consisting of 11 new employees to work on the design and development of this new platform and technologies. The new team members will work as part of these teams.

Job description

The successful candidate will work as part of the Robotics team (ROT). ROT will be responsible for R&D, design and development of several new avionic and electro-mechanical components to be used on the UAV and GCS as well as defining MTBFs and MRO procedures for system components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design,prototyping and testing of Mechanical & Moving parts.

Equipment Compliance to IP66,

Maritime UAV interior design, Maritime Engine adaptation to UAV, Parts to integrate systems to Naval Vessel, MC2S structure, All boxes for electronics, Payload integration parts and mechanisms.

Define procedures for the TVT on how to accept (test, verify) parts and components, which test systems to build and how to use them to define and increase MTBFs of parts.

Development of Test Infrastructure and Validation Tools for a test environment (MTBF). Selection of H/W.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar discipline is desirable.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Engineering role with active involvement within a manufacturing floor, is desirable.

Motivated and Innovative thinker – able to envision new and better ways to do things and strives to achieve and demonstrate best practices.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including quality, production and supply chain.

Adheres to due diligence and compliance in all aspects of work.

Experience with good documentation practices.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise own daily work routine to meet established schedule.
