Position: Mechanical Design Engineer Level II:
Summary: G3 Aerospace in Bozeman, MT is currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with commercial aircraft interiors experience. The engineer will be involved in the design of interior and secondary structural parts which will include detailed part and assembly design for rotorcraft and fixed wing aircraft.
Responsible for creating designs of aircraft interior products ranging from but not limited to: bins, galleys, lavatories, or ceiling panels used in commercial and private aircrafts using a computer aided drafting system and support existing designs of products which are manufactured by our customers
Produce innovative, intelligent designs for production in a timely manner with respect to the project schedule, while optimizing ease of manufacturing, cost, weight, and function
Design to mandatory regulatory requirements, customer and company specifications
Produce accurate 3D models, preliminary layouts, production details and assembly drawings while meeting drawing release dates
Prepare drawings and other engineering data required for the manufacturing of the product and data submittal to the customer
Release 3D models and drawings, maintaining data integrity according to G3 quality standards.
Mentor entry level engineering personnel in fields of expertise
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
US Citizenship is required
5 years of experience
BSME or MET degree required.
Understanding of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards and GD&T preferred
Proficiency in 3-D modeling and detail drawing generation using SolidWorks or Catia V5 required
Experience performing tolerance and stack up analyses preferred
Experience with design for manufacturability and/or manufacturing support preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills expected
Must be comfortable working in a team environment with changing priorities and deadlines
Ability to travel if required
