Provide oversight and supervision of a team of material engineers responsible for technical recommendations to Structures & Materials Division (SMD) of the Army’s Aviation Engineering Directorate, AMCOM Program Managers and field Commanders on all materials related processes involving operation, repair and maintenance of the current Army aviation fleet. This includes structural repairs, dynamic component replacement, corrosion and erosion protection and environmental impacts for aircraft and aircraft subsystems. Acts as the technical focal point for all input provided by team members to the government customer and is the interface between the customer and team on technical issues. Reviews team members technical input for accuracy and appropriateness. Distributes assignments to team members. Provide technical recommendations to SMD managers, Program Managers and other Army agencies regarding materials applications, materials qualification, and manufacturing processes for developmental systems and modifications of existing fleet platforms. Special emphasis will be placed on the development and application of corrosion and environmental activities and repairs to composite components of the fielded Army aircraft. Standard repairs will be prepared for existing fielded systems as well as special repairs for field reported damage.


Requires BA/BS with 12 years of experience MS with 10 years and at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
