Maritime Aviation Warfare Officer (Female Opportunity) Job at Royal Australian Navy in New South Wales

Your role:

Hop into the cockpit of one of the Navy’s most advanced helicopters. As a Maritime Aviation Warfare Officer in the Navy, you’ll be Mission Commander of your flight, strategising the helicopter’s weapon and sensor systems, communications, navigation and more. You’ll use the complex sensors on board to direct and support operations, and advise the force of key tactical and strategic information vital to the mission.

With fully paid training, you’ll learn to operate in a range of Navy aircraft. Plus you’ll develop the skills to detect and plot against potential enemy attacks and provide tactical information to your ship and other maritime and broader Defence units.

You’ll work within a tightknit aircrew team operating a MH-60R combat helicopter. These sophisticated helicopters undertake any number of missions and can launch from Australian or allied warships or act independently.

This is worlds away from the average desk job, with detachments in Australia and abroad that you can’t get in any other workplace.

Life in the Navy:

A career in the Navy is a challenging and highly rewarding working environment that comes with good work/life balance, competitive salary and skills for life. You can expect to feel a unique sense of accomplishment and pride from serving and protecting our country and helping to keep our vast coastlines safe.

Life in the Navy is anything but mundane. You’ll enjoy varied lifestyles, rewarding careers, opportunities to travel, and excellent social and fitness facilities, free medical and dental; all in a dynamic and fulfilling working environment.

Don’t worry, it’s not all life at sea—there’s more to the Navy than ships, submarines and helicopters. Some days, you might be exploring exciting new countries with your fellow aircrew and shipmates. Other times, you could be based locally not too far from home.

Be paid to train and learn the skills required to become a qualified Maritime Aviation Warfare Officer. Upon completion of your initial military and initial employment training, you’ll enjoy a competitive starting salary package of up to: $95,390 including service and uniform allowances, as well as a Maritime Allowance (if applicable).
