Sounds like something you are up for? That’s why we need you to complete our team with the Fixed Wing Search & Rescue (FWSAR) Operational Training Unit (OTU) at 19 Wing Comox in Comox, BC we are looking for Simulator Maintenance Instructors as follows. The target timeframe for interviewing candidates is late Spring/early Summer 2021. Note that these are full-time, temporary roles, with a current estimated end date of December 2025.

Responsibilities include:
Delivery of the Aviation Systems Technician (AVN), Aircraft Structures (ACS), or Avionics Systems (AVS) first line maintenance courses

Delivery of courses for servicing and elementary work, engine run-up, Level C Releaser, and maintenance manager qualifications

Ensure that training delivered is consistent with training objectives and teaching points in the training plan, per applicable training standards

Reporting student progress, issues and deficiencies relative to the course delivery

Ability to travel and work shift/overtime when needed

Ability to work autonomously to tackle a broad scope of customer requirements

Ability to effectively deliver oral presentations to management and customers

Ability to work independently and direct subordinates

Ability to deliver synthetic environment training using simulators and other tools

Ability to contribute to development of teaching aids and courseware

Mandatory qualifications:
Previous Military experience as a senior AVN, ACS, or AVS technician

Superior interpersonal and communication skills required

Formal training in Instructional Techniques

Experience with authoring and amending multi-media instructional courseware

Familiar with quality standards, training plans, and training media used to ensure teaching points are met per Training Standards

MANDATORY: Be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance & Controlled Good Clearance

MANDATORY: Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit

MANDATORY: Physically able to work in confined spaces

Desirable qualifications include:
Verbal French second language skills

Minimum 10 years related experience as an AVN, ACS, or AVS Technician with the Military

Previous Military experience as an AVN, ACS, or AVS instructor

Airbus 295 aircraft experience
