We’re actively looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to lead Mission and Vehicle level systems for our XL-1 Lunar Lander, South Pole mission.

Duties & Responsibilities:?

Working across Mastens programs, with a focus on the XL-1 lunar lander for the 2023 south pole mission.

Lead mission and vehicle level systems engineering processes including trade studies, requirements management, applying industry standards, verification and validation planning

Provide technical mentorship to team members and monitor technical integrity of all team member contributions

Coordinate between subsystems to proactively identify and prevent interface, integration and operational issues

Identify technical issues and proactively implement resolutions to mitigate schedule and cost impacts

Maintain system performance requirements, integrating technical parameters, and assuring compatibility of physical, functional and program interfaces?

Generate, review, approve, and manage system requirements including but not limited to regulatory, safety, design, environmental, manufacturing, quality, operational, and testing requirements?

Work closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment to develop the mission Concept of Operations and the technical interface definitions?

Utilize excellent teamwork and written/oral English communications skills?to ensure coordination between subsystems.



Several?years of experience?in spacecraft?systems?engineering?

Innovative and open to helping create a Cislunar economy – passionate about space?

Desired Technical Skills/


Supporting the design, development, integration and test of XL-1 lunar lander?systems.?

Understanding of spacecraft?systems?environments, especially lunar landers?

An understanding of cis-lunar and lunar surface environments??

Understands what is – and what is not -? needed for high quality spaceflight?systems??

Experience with the complete lifecycle of spacecraft development: design, build, test, and fly?

Experience with startups e companies?



TE: this person will need to be on site in Mojave CA approximately 30% of the time, flexibility to work remote when not needed on site.
