Job Description Summary

The Assembly Process Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes within the Assembly Test Organization (ATO). In this role you will utilize your experience to solve technical problems, develop and execute objectives, communicate to leadership, and drive business goals. The role focuses on supporting Assembly Grind processes for GE Aviation production and overhaul facilities through best practice development and leveraging.

Job Description Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Solid understanding CNC programing and how they are integrated with PC user interfaces

Familiar with grind tooling design and best practices

Understanding of all machine components and have the ability to trouble shoot grind machines, lasers and touch probe systems

Knowledge of grind wheel specifications (types and applications), diamond dresser specifications and coolant applications

Familiar with how engine hardware is fixtured, chucked or otherwise restrained for grind processes

Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

Provide technical leadership and a consulting resource to supporting personnel, colleagues, and customers

Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Be the technical liaison to equipment manufacturers providing technical specifications and assuring on-time machine/equipment delivery

Some domestic and international travel required


Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems

PC proficiency. Machine control/CNC programming background

Shop environment experience (specifically jet engine assembly/test) strongly desired
