Launch Integration Specialist, Avionics Job at SpaceX – 3.7 in Vandenberg AFB, CA

SpaceX’s rapid growth and busy launch manifest has created a new opening on our Launch Vehicle Integration Team. A Launch Avionics Specialist will execute Falcon 9 launch vehicle avionics related integration tasks to meet all mission and pre-launch processing objectives.

Avionics and flight termination system component integration

Test execution on launch vehicle and electrical GSE systems

Organize and track equipment necessary for avionics and flight termination system processing tasks

Perform periodic upgrades to Falcon support rack as required, and run routine checkouts and configuration during launch campaigns

Communicate avionics and flight termination system work effectively with integration engineers and technicians

Work with engineering to improve processes and planning

High school diploma or equivalency certificate

7+ years of experience working with avionics

5+ years of experience operating specialized avionics equipment: high potential (hipot) testing, network/RF diagnostic kits and/or video checkout systems

Associate or bachelor’s degree

AV1200 certification

Strong computer and written communication skills

High attention to detail

Comfortable communicating with all levels of employees

Skilled with excel and power point for tracking data

Experience with avionics troubleshooting and build

Ability to interpret and update configuration files for EGSE

Must be willing to work occasional overtime and weekends

Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg

Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise

May require occasional travel to other SpaceX locations
