Insurance Professional Apprenticeship Job at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty – in London
Come and join us in a market-facing role (Claims, Distribution or Underwriting) where you will start your career in the London insurance market. The role will span 2 years and your development will be supported with a L4 Insurance Professional apprenticeship. Your role will have clear responsibility and will see you working alongside a team of experts. You’ll have networking opportunities across the Allianz group and the London insurance market.
You will need to have demonstrated your motivation and ability to operate independently through either previous work experience, volunteering or higher education and fulfil the requirements for a UK apprenticeship. We work flexibly and when the world opens back up, there will be opportunities to work remotely as well as in our London offices and with customers in the London market, so you should be within a commutable distance from London.
Multiple entry level roles available: Claims Assistant, Assistant Underwriter and Sales Analyst.

Assistant UnderwriterProactively prepares relevant underwriting information including client / market research and claims dataAssists in pricing of risks, using global tools as appropriateProactively establishes and maintains policy file (whether electronic or paper) for each risk and transaction handledEnsures accurate policy documentation issued to broker (where AGCS responsibility to do so) or broker has issued documentation (where broker responsibility)Proactively works with other functions (e.g. operations, credit control) to resolve outstanding accounts queriesProactively develops relationships with internal functional areas involved in the Underwriting processAssist UWR teams within the planning cycleAssist with projects as requiredGeneral support tasks Sales AnalystSupport the growth strategies of the Region London (all product lines) through analysis, research and sales support.Prepare and analyze key business steering reports including but not restricted to EPI reports, profitability reports and key wins and lapses.Co-ordinate the Sales Planning Process in the Regional Unit London.Contribute to new business initiatives through product and industry sector specific market research. Claims AssistantProcess standard claims and enquiries, which may include outstanding and settlements.Where job-holder is sufficiently experienced; undertake adjustment of claims – investigation, negotiation and settlement. Will have authority over specified categories of claims.Collate and produce statistical reports for the Claims Manager, underwriting department and clients as appropriate.Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within the computer systems – e.g. GENIUS.Ensure claims are properly reserved and that claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines. Regularly review reserves.Discuss and review contentious claims with fellow adjusters and management to obtain opinions/comments. Develop strong working relationships with AGCS underwriters to ensure good communication over claims matters.Deal with queries from inside and outside the Company with regard to claims or the claims process. Off-the-Job LearningThere is a mandatory requirement for at least 20% off-the-job training in your apprenticeship. This principle underpins a quality apprenticeship.
