The Interiors SBU has launched a strategic initiative to implement SAP across its global business. The Interiors’ SAP Implementation is a long-term strategy to reduce Interiors’ existing 16 ERP systems to 2 SAP instances. The Interiors’ SAP Implementation advances our “One Collins” strategy and is foundational to our business growth and innovation by enabling system usage, connection, and efficient processes.
The Global Data Engineering Manager is an integral role to the Interiors SAP Team and has responsibilities for managing the implementation of SAP data & Supporting PLM related business processes, enhancements, and
solutions (e.g., data cleanliness, master data, parts masters, configuration management, eBOM v mBOM,
engineering interface). The position will act as the liaison between Digital Technologies and the business site SAP team to ensure that business process are aligned with SAP solutions. This is a remote role that reports into Associate Director of Engineering & Master Data for SAP. There will be moderate (less than 50%) travel required for this position.
Job Summary:
Strong end to end process understanding of engineering data definition and use within an ERP system at a manufacturing facility
Experience with Collins best practices and policies relating to areas such as New Product introduction, Engineering Change and production master data. Ability to lead and provide techniques, expertise, and training for new process creation
Proactive and results driven. Ensure milestones and project deliverables are fulfilled to met the SAP implementation schedule by working in conjunction with DT & site support
Ability to understand various business requirements and bridge them to the SAP system and future business processes; Apply best practices and drive standardization across the Interiors sites
Identify and mitigate risks, close functional gaps, and ensure a successful, sustainable implementation
Ensure that Data Conversion, Cleansing and governance support both PLM and SAP alignment
Drive optimized SAP business solutions across all business implementations, including effective and efficient processes in alignment with the Engineering strategy.
Be a change agent, lead and facilitate improvements with businesses to completion, including resolution and organizational buy-in for policy changes.
Ability to work with, interact, communicate, and build relationship with various levels within the organization.
Skills and Capabilities preferred:
Working Knowledge of SAP or other similar ERP system
Working Knowledge of Team Center or other similar PLM system
A combination of ERP systems experience and detailed knowledge of business processes related to Product Data Management i.e. Items, BOMs, Routings, Work centers
Proven experience with analyzing and working with large amounts of data
Demonstrate excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Experience working in cross functional groups. Ability to influence people to achieve a common objective
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 8+ years of Digital Engineering experience OR
Advanced degree from an accredited university and 5+ years of Digital Engineering experience OR
In the absence of a degree, 12+ years of Digital Engineering experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading or participating in data migration activities or ERP implementations/alignments
Experience working in an aerospace, commercial, and/or manufacturing environment
STEM degree preferred, but not required
