CAE Middle East is recruiting a FSTD Support Engineer/Technician II (multiple positions) who will be part of a team providing Maintenance and Support for a fleet of Full Flight Simulators and Lower Level Training devices part of a Flight Crew Training Centre located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The positions will be reporting to the Group Leader Technical Operations.

As a FSTD Support Engineer/Technician II, the incumbent performs complex but standard technical tasks including preventive and corrective maintenance work on site and may execute some design work. Contribute to the team to ensure that all Training devices are maintained as per their qualification standard and in line with CAE quality guidelines and procedures. In addition to defined job functions, employees are required to carry out such other duties that may be reasonably required for the smooth operation of CAE Training center operations.

Responsibilities

Support the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices:
Attend maintenance calls, device setup, conversions and demos, assist during SFTs / PVCs, perform snag clearance, etc…

Ensure that PMTs are carried out according to the standards, and signed off. Ensure that all recurrent QTG runs are done. Ensure that PMT and QTG raised deficiencies are followed up, actioned, and closed in a timely manner. Troubleshoot related issues and work with the specialists for resolution as required.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex training device issues, including NAA raised issues. Promptly update the associated DRs. Work with colleagues on AOGs. Perform hardware refurbishment and modifications. Communicate and share information with colleagues and other departments (logistics, scheduling, training department, etc…) to improve training delivery and customer satisfaction. Identify recurring issues and work to pursue permanent solutions. Make use of the Maintenance Management System to record, track, and review maintenance activities.

Perform the role of device or task caretaker. Manage all aspects of the device or task autonomously. Seek and make improvements to procedures related to various training device maintenance tasks. Mentor and provide on the job technical training to junior engineers and technicians. Pursue knowledge and skills to strive to become a technical expert in one or more simulator system. (i.e. Visual, Motion, Flt Controls, etc…)

Monitor Sim issues and action / update issues that are assigned to the on-site team for action. Perform all requested tests, and provide clear and concise feedback. Consult and coordinate with senior colleagues to ensure that all Snags and SPRs are actioned promptly, to meet SLA targets.

Comply with local & global CAE Environmental Health & Safety standards, instructions, and safe working procedures. Exercise duty of care for own H&

S, and that of others who may be affected by his/her work.

Job-Related Skills &

Requirements

Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical or Aviation Field and at least 3-5 years of related work experience.

Excellent knowledge of the English Language, both spoken and written.
