The CAA is the UK’s aviation regulator, responsible for keeping passengers and the general public safe. Recognised as a world leader in our field, we are at the cutting edge of the exciting and ever-changing aviation environment. Never standing still, our work includes diverse activities from driving world-class safety standards, through minimising the environmental impact of aviation on local communities to the ATOL holiday financial protection scheme.
Are you an aviation professional? Use your expertise to help us make the industry even safer and make the most of your skills and knowledge at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Join us here and you can help our industry to meet the highest standards.
As a Flight Operations (Training) Inspector you will be part of the UK’s specialist aviation regulator, improving industry safety on behalf of the nation. We are expanding our influence to become a more effective performance regulator. Flight Operations is an integral part of the established and world-renowned Safety & Airspace Regulation Group (SARG). Your knowledge, skills and experience will contribute significantly to the oversight of flight operations.
As part of your Flight Operations Inspector duties you will support the oversight of organisations holding Air Operator Certificate (AOC). Performance based oversight is a key element of our work, and our ability to influence industry and be proportionate in our approach are important items in our toolbox.
Utilising your Training Inspector authority, you will be responsible for performing assessment of competencies for type rating examiners and other pilot training privileges.
As an aviation professional you will hold an ATPL with experience of fixed wing commercial operations and training experience; ideally you will also hold management experience within a flight operations or training environment. Having worked extensively in the industry, you will hold an in-depth knowledge of ICAO, EASA and UK technical requirements for the training and licensing of flight crew. Audit and assessment skills would be advantageous.
