Financial Accountant – OneSky Europe Job at Flexjet Europe – in Milano, Lombardia

Operating in the private aviation industry, One Sky Flight is a privately owned US company that is currently going through a period of expansion in its European operations. As a result of this growth, a new role is required within the Finance organisation to help support the needs of the business.

Reporting to the European Finance Director, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in the financial accounting across a number of European legal entities. This is a full-time role that will predominantly be based out of our St. Albans office. The Financial Accountant will work closely with both the UK and US based finance teams to ensure timely month end reporting of the management accounts to the US based Consolidations Team. Providing assistance on company audits to ensure successful filing of annual statutory accounts will be a key feature of this role. It will also require involvement with treasury, payroll, intercompany transactions and tax. The Financial Accountant will be a trusted business partner for the Sales and Operations teams.

Month-end close activities: journal entries, producing management accounts etc.

Balance sheet reconciliations.

Cashflow forecasting, reviewing payment runs and authorizing payments.

Providing information needed for the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and helping to produce financial statements.

Supporting audit requests from the external auditors.

VAT return preparation and filing.

Collaborating with the FP&A team to assist with variance analysis.

Assisting with any special projects and ad-hoc reporting requirements as and when they may arise.


You will be a qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA Accountant, preferably holding a Bachelor’s degree.

Familiarity with Oracle accounting system will be advantageous

Detailed knowledge of VAT (UK and European) will be a plus

Aviation experience desirable but not essential.

You should feel confident working in a dynamic fast paced atmosphere and calm under pressure.

You will be self-motivated, flexible and able to work on own initiative.


Must possess the legal ability to work in the United States/United Kingdom

Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Physical demands may require a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (i.e., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) along with various office equipments.

Flexibility to occasionally accommodate the working hours of colleagues in other timezones as well as being flexible to the demands of supporting a business that operates 24/7.
