Job Description SummaryThe Aero/Thermal Systems Propulsion Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will be an integral part of the SPOCT (Systems, Performance, Operability, Controls and Transient Analysis) team supporting Commercial Next Generation engine architectures and current fielded products. Additionally, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

Analyze transient characteristics of engines, including running cycle models

Develop engines to meet the operability requirements throughout the flight envelope

Analyze the surge/stall margin throughout engine development

Conduct testing in rigs, ground tests and flight engines

Match transient engine cycle model performance to test data

Participate in transient validation and/or operability design reviews

Execute with guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements

Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments

Participate in audits of engine operability, thrust response, starting and flameout

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work
