Position SummaryServes as an engineer for maintaining cabin interior/exterior markings, placards, configuration, paint schemes and emergency equipment requirements. Assist with troubleshooting defects in the working systems above in both Line and Base environments, research, and development for reverse-engineering of systems or components as applicable. Coordinates efforts with In-Flight, Airport Operations, Brand Management and Marketing in order to maintain proper appearance and assist in any corrective action.
Key Responsibilities
Maintains and coordinates interior/exterior markings, placards, paint schemes and interior/emergency equipment requirements as needed to support the operation
Develops and implements solutions to improve passenger comfort and crew concerns
Collaberates with Airport Operations on cabin appearance and related products used in aircraft cleanliness
Assist with cabin configurations for new aircraft or cabin refreshes, including FAR/CFR requirements such as burn certifications, 16G seat loads, etc.
Research and development for reverse engineering (owner operator produced parts) for components
The position requires application of engineering principles to research technical, operational, and quality issues, as well as determining interim and final engineering solutions, and responding to OEM/Vendor and internal questions and reported problems through internal and external communication
Prepares, creates, reviews and approves engineering documentation in accordance with HA Engineering Standard Operating Procedures and processes. Includes repairs, modifications, alterations and STC’s
Utilizes technical expertise and practical experience to disposition complex technical issues
Researches, recommends and approves part alternatives
Substantiates repairs/modifications in accordance with industry accepted practices and Federal Aviation Administration applicable requirements
Reviews documents including CMM’s, Service Letters, Service Bulletins, FARs, CFR’s, Airworthiness Directives, and other manufacturer issued publications
Provide on-site support to Maintenaince
Ability to read and understand Maintenaince Manuals (IPC, AMM, WDM, SSM, TSM, SRM, FIM, etc.) to assist in troubleshooting
Maintains and updates maintenance manuals, OEM and internal revisions, approve and authorize part master records in TRAX by researching substantiation documentation
Research reliability trends and assist with actioning improvements on components and airframes
Interface with equipment vendors, industry partners, MRO providers and regulatory authorities
Collaboration with Planning, MRO’s, Quality Assurance, Supply, Materials and Maintenance for process improvements as needed
Participates in resolution of design and improvements to maintenance programs & procedures as needed
Timely accomplishment of assignments coming into the group, including resolution of CARs, CERIs, review/disposition of Alert Level investigations, IRG, MRRB, CAS activities, etc.
Ability to work on 717, 787, A321 and A330 fleet types
Professional development such as training, conferences and other related duties as assigned
