Job Summary

As an Avionics centered Electrical Engineer at Skyfront you will be actively involved in

The creation, validation and integration of various electrical components ranging from printed circuit boards to electronic accessories.

The software and firmware integration of various off-the-shelf accessories such as cameras, radars, gimbals and LiDARs with the UAV.

The data analysis and documentation of each electrical component, subsystem or system analytical model.

Sourcing and managing the electrical related bill-of-materials including scouting suppliers and carrying out cost-benefit analysis.

The characterization of off-nominal operation of components in case of failure.

Foundational Skills

Able to fluently converse, understand and quickly converge at solutions while interacting with the team, the supplier and the customer.

Able to demonstrate strong technical reading and writing skills and being able to use Microsoft Word or otherwise to create sophisticated documentation as needed.

Able to be flexible and capable of managing time and deadlines when encountering multiple projects at the same time.

Technical Skills

Must have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of electrical engineering both digital and analog.

Must be able to create circuit boards that allow the aircraft to function reliably and efficiently. Being able to go through the ideation, design, prototyping, testing, production and diagnosis cycle on a regular basis.

Must be able to safely and knowledgeably operate electrical equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and battery analyzers and understand design for ESD and test procedures.

Must be versatile with hands and capable of building and testing prototypes as needed.

Must have experience with designing schematics and PCB layouts on layout software such as Altium Designer or equivalent. A minimum of two years worth of experience is expected.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Mavlink Messaging Protocol.

Experience with PX4 or Ardupilot Codebase

Experience with Altium Designer.

Education and Experience

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering OR a minimum of 2 years worth of work in a related field
