The Director of Quality is responsible for overall management, coordination, and administration of quality assurance, inspections, and technical data, to ensure the highest level of operational integrity, compliance with all regulatory requirements, preventative maintenance planning, and new hire and recurrent training to create a safe and efficient working environment.

Essential Job Functions

Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.

Leadership, commitment and promotion of safety as a core value of the maintenance organization.

Administration of personnel and operation of Technical Division – 2 to ensure that the division primary responsibilities are carried out and all specified policies, practices, and procedures are complied with.

Administration and control of assigned budgetary responsibility.

Liaison with the Safety Department in the administration of the Safety Management System (SMS)

Member of the Maintenance Operation Safety Board and Joint Operation Safety Board. Responsible for implementing corrective actions within his area of responsibility as directed by the Board and Company and manages risk through established SMS policies and procedures.

Develop standards and procedures to ensure continuous regulatory compliance, airworthiness and flight safety.

Collaboration with the Director of Maintenance and Director of Contract Maintenance to identify, and implement initiatives to increase overall fleet reliability and operational performance.

Verify on a continuing basis that all Maintenance Department manuals, documents, and specifications are accurate for technical content, proper approval authority, currency and adherence to regulatory standards.

Administration and responsibility for Airworthiness Directives (AD) and related controls.

Oversees and manages the Reliability/CASS program with a focus on driving continuous improvement in the areas of fleet performance and maintenance program effectiveness. Ensures all regulatory reporting is completed.

Administer Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) oversight for the operation

Administer and control of FAA Operations Specifications, Parts D and E.

Approval authority and oversight of fuel vendors and oversee quality of fuel vendor program.

Approval authority for Essential and Non-Essential Maintenance Providers with associated quality assurance audits and programs.

Serve as the Company’s Airworthiness FAA liaison as related to Maintenance.

Ensure that all specified policies, practices and procedures are complied with, and follow Company policies and procedures for completion of assigned duties.

Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.

Oversees Non Destructive Testing Inspector Program.

Oversees Aircraft Records.

Authority to submit Voluntary Self Disclosures and responses to FAA Compliance Action letters.

Strong working knowledge of the US Code of Federal Regulations related to the areas affecting Airworthiness for Airline Operations
