The Human Resources team helps attract and recruit diverse talent, and works to provide employees with competitive benefits, leadership resources and the support to be successful at United. This group is made up of diverse individuals all working together to provide strategic HR support to leaders to help build the best airline in the history of aviation.

The Director – International HR – EMEIA position is responsible for partnering with business unit leaders to define and deliver innovative, critical initiatives and solutions that align with our Core4 values. Must be an inspiring leader in many areas, including but not limited to strategy, org design, employee engagement, diagnosing talent, training/coaching/mentoring, regulatory compliance and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing HR leadership to influence strategic business decisions, guide and support for their client group

Establish and maintain positive relationship with assigned Business Partners

Collaborate with Senior HR Leadership and Business Partners to implement HR and business strategies/objectives

Analyze, evaluate, create and implement HR strategies to advance the organization forward including but not limited to, workforce planning and development, organizational development and performance, org design, HR employment practices, rewards and recognition strategies, diversity, employee relations and succession planning

Maintain knowledge of local market trends, best practices, regulatory changes and technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law

Evaluate for local implementation

Strategic leadership for human resources and talent acquisition including the management and development of HR/TA team members

Serve as a United representative within the community and work to build local relationships that will allow United to positively impact local communities while strengthening our overall brand

Build and maintain strategic partnerships with business client groups, both in India and US, to understand their department objectives and collaborate on implementation

This position would warrant 30% travel. The role is based at London, Heathrow Airport with some flexibility to support a blend of in-office and remote work.

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Unless subject to a collective bargaining agreement in the country to which an employee is being transferred; the employee retains their original date of employment and company seniority in the new country. Upon transfer, the employee is removed from payroll and benefits in former country and appropriately placed in the salary range and payroll / benefits systems of the new country.

Human Resources will assist with the terms and conditions of employment in light of labor agreements, collective agreements, country work rules and labor laws. In the new country, the employee is reinstated using the same employee id, date of employment and company seniority dates.

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
College graduate

Extensive and dynamic HR experience/Generalist experience with emphasis on business partnerships, direct experience supporting business leaders, employee advocacy, change activities, HR administration

Significant experience in labor relations, negotiations and working with union groups

Significant experience leading others

Excellent interpersonal communication

Highly effective at building partnerships and influencing leaders at all levels of an organization

Strong collaborator with other HR support teams and business partners

Experience at leading a high performing team passionate about delivering business results

High level of HR and business acumen

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships develop and deliver fair and equitable solutions

Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with proven customer service orientation

Must be self-motivated and have an enhance ability to prioritize/plan and execute using good business judgment in a fast paced environment

Strong analytical skills

Well organized with the ability multi-task

Must be legally authorized to work in the UK for any employer without sponsorship, with the eligibility to travel across Europe

Must be proficient in English (written and spoken). Other European languages are advantageous.

Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
