American Robotics (AR) is seeking a Director of flight support operations. The field operations team is key to the enablement of AR’s fully automated drone system for industrial inspection. In this role, you will be responsible for all operations leading up to and including the successful installation of AR’s scout system. The director of flight support operations reports to the VP of operations and will work closely with the director of flight operations and the senior safety manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage the schedules, system logistics, and workforce required to install a scout system and required supporting equipment

Develop, establish, and implement a scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair plan for deployed scout systems

Lead site survey team that is responsible for ensuring scout suitability to AR customers

Understand and implement the operational and safety requirements for all personnel intended to be present at a customer site

Interface with customer’s operations team at current and prospective sites to ensure system requirements are met while maintaining customer satisfaction

Lead 3rd party relationships in the field operations process; to include but not limited to, logistics vendors, off site lease owners, maintainers, and network providers

Communicate with operational and customer leadership at AR to ensure timely flow of information

Advocate customer needs/issues cross-departmentally by providing feedback into other functional teams.

Manage account escalations and collaborate with other functional areas to achieve customer satisfaction and resolve customer issues in a timely fashion.

Track, analyze and implement solutions for metrics to include but not limited to: OTD, MTBF

Qualifications:

Results-oriented leader with leadership experience in distributed operations

Demonstrate customer centric and interpersonal skills

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Capable of working with people of varied roles and abilities, including executive management

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, cross-functional work streams

Team player with solid communication and presentation skills.

Accountability and personal organization are essential

Data driven leader that can digest aggregated data collected from the field and logistics operations to identify gaps and best practices

Experience analyzing and optimizing existing processes

10+ years of field operations management, field support and customer site commissioning

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

Travel

Expected to travel up to 20% of the time
