About the role

You will create and drive an optimised import programme for all crude and feedstock shipments into Viva Energy’s Geelong Refinery. The import programme you will manage is dynamic, reactive to changes in both the Refinery and the various individual loadports. You will be part of the E&S (Economics and Scheduling) Team at the Geelong Refinery, Your role in managing the optimised crude/feed program involves working with multiple external stakeholders (i.e. traders, vessels, surveyors, agents, etc.) and many internal colleagues (E&S, Marine Technical Assurance, local jetty personal, operations, etc.). The Crude and Feed Coordinator role naturally suits applicants who enjoy communicating with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities in this role will include;

Managing the program of crude and feed supply to the refinery. Ideally delivering the right grade to the right place, at the right time and safely, to maximise the overall refinery margin.

Supporting the selection, and marine clearance of vessels to help match vessels candidates to voyages within your import programme

Monitoring voyage progress and react to vessel or refinery delays/opportunities. Making sure that all shipping operators, traders, refineries, finance and other stakeholders are kept informed of changes

Actively managing vessel demurrage by optimising your programme and then reporting performance to Management.

Accountability for the documentation and approval of all crude, feed and freight transactions.

Ensuring compliance with legislation and Group standards.

Providing support to crude and feedstock strategy ahead of planned refinery maintenance activities and provide input to performance improvement and best practice initiative projects, and manage their implementation.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in dynamic supply chain environment handle multitude of competing priorities, tight timelines and make decisions amidst ambiguity. You will have a demonstrated understand key elements of supply chain and operations, scheduling and transportation, execution of contracts. Will have exposure and demonstrated experience of working within a safety focused and efficient operations. You will need to be able to process information quickly and have advanced communication, influencing and negotiation skills. You will be a Graduate in technical or commercial discipline (preferred), relevant experience in the downstream oil industry would be highly valued.
