Assist aircraft mechanics/ technicians in servicing, maintaining, repairing and overhauling aircraft and aircraft systems which may include dismantling, repairing, overhauling and replacing parts and assemblies. Performs duties such as facilitating materials, tools and supplies to the mechanic, cleaning work areas and machines, tools, and equipment. Required to clean aircraft, interior and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions. Inflates tires, fills gasoline tanks and oil reservoirs, and greases aircraft. May assist mechanics in preparing aircraft prior to flight and post flight maintenance actions. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level mechanics/ technicians for position relevant tasks.
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Relevant experience performing or assisting functional duties under the oversite of more senior positions.
Other Desired Experience: DOD service Type Model relevant experience. Knowledge of supply/ logistics policies and procedures. Two years NAWC/ NAVAIR experience.
