Cargo Security Operative

Description You will have excellent communication skills and take a proactive approach to look for new ways of working. You want to make a difference and you will thrive as part of our dedicated team within our busy and successful warehouse cargo operation. You will take pride in the smooth and timely processing and screening of cargo packages. This role requires you to be multiskilled, so as well as handling the cargo you will also have general security officer duties including securing aircraft, patrolling, body, vehicle and bag searching. These will be your key objectives; you should recognise some of these in relation to your current skills and experience as well as some objectives that you will need training & development to achieve.

These will be discussed with your manager.

Carry out security screening of parcels and packages in accordance with the latest CAA regulations.

Screening aviation outbound packages, checking for prohibited articles and ensure that any such articles are intercepted.

Work cohesively as part of the team to maximise co-operation leading to the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation.

Liaise and work together with other departments to ensure our customers receive a high standard of service.

Ensure a record of any incidents/accidents involving suspicious packages, staff, equipment & aircraft are reported immediately to your line manager.

Complete paperwork and administrative duties in a timely manner and relevant information is forwarded where appropriate.

Undertake other activities to support the needs of the business as required.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Excellent communication skills written and verbal.

Proactive approach to all work requirements and a team centred ethos.

A good eye for detail and working in a fast-paced environment

Prior experience of working in an airport environment is an advantage.

Experience in aviation

Cargo Screening experience is an advantage
