What You Will Do:
As a Business Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the results of your unit – profit and loss, meeting the annual plan, and growth in the value of the business. You’ll lead a cross functional business unit team (sales, operations, engineering and quality), generate new business, prepare proposals, obtain bookings, develop and maintain customer relationships, establish the yearly business plan, negotiate contracts, and oversee operating activities to make sure that we provide great customer service while meeting cost objectives. This high visibility position has a tremendous amount of growth potential, and could lead to great places within the organization!
Lead and guide the business team in the pursuit of profitable new business and maintain clear focus and priorities in the product team
Focus on value creation – value based pricing and identifying profitable new business opportunities
Develop annual and long term business plans for the business unit
Create a sales and marketing plan to drive new business and meet your unit’s goals
Partner with the sales team to support business growth and customer retention
Prioritize and coordinate engineering activities to support your business unit’s goals
Build a strong partnership with operations to make sure that cost goals are met, customer needs are prioritized, and quality issues are resolved
Drive and grow a team through coaching and mentorship – focus on the people
Prepare and present your unit’s results, telling the story of the business unit as an owner would
A desire to grow your career into a senior leadership role
What You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree, MBA a plus
Prior leadership experience is a plus
At least 3 years of experience in functions ranging from sales, operations, finance or engineering, preferably from a manufacturing background
Advanced Excel and analytical skills, and an ability to synthesize data by asking the right questions
A proactive, positive, and customer focused attitude
An action oriented and ownership mindset
A strong work ethic and lots of energy, the ability to think critically and to solve problems
Tremendous organizational skills
You must be a US Person
