The Role

The Business Support Manager is responsible for the management and governance of departmental finance, contract and support functions. The post holder will ensure appropriate visibility of agreements as available to relevant stakeholders and in managing renewals will ensure timely consideration to provide the opportunity for the best possible procurement and service agreements.

This individual will have excellent IT service management experience, good supplier and vendor management experience, strong project management acumen plus a strong governance-oriented approach to IT Management. You will be joining a small yet progressive team with line management responsibility of five individuals.

About You

The successful applicant will have superior experience in business relationship management to work collaboratively on effective solutions. You will have broad knowledge of all contract management as well as experience of supplier and vendor management. You will ideally have previous line management experience or be able to demonstrate the readiness to take this next step in your career.

The role requires the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels drawing on experience of software asset management and understanding of different software licensing models – particularly Microsoft, Adobe and Cloud services.

A strong financial background with experience of managing budgets and controls will be a distinct advantage, as will understanding of quality management systems, benchmarking & audit methodology and experience of Buying Solutions Frameworks.

Additional Information

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. This can either be 3 years or 5 years depending on the level required (CTC or SC). If you do not meet these requirements, we may not be able to accept your application.
