About Us

Lone Mountain Aviation is the largest General Aviation facility in Southern Nevada. Toting two MRO’s, servicing thousands of aircraft every year. Working everything from Cessna 172’s & 206s, to Cirrus upto Small BizJet Aircraft including King Air’s, Caravans, Meridians, and Citations. Lone Mountain Aviation is currently looking for an Avionics Technician capable of seeing installs all the way through with little supervision from start to finish. Knowledge of Garmin, and General Aviation is a must. This position will provide technical expertise in testing general aviation aircraft systems, troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies, and diagnosing customer reported discrepancies in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate technical skills and expertise in general aviation avionics and aircraft systems, operational testing, and troubleshooting. Perform maintenance and repairs on general aviation aircraft for which the technician has been assigned
  • Accomplish general aviation avionics installations and accomplish functional checks of electrical/avionics components and systems on general aviation type aircraft
  • Sets up and operates necessary test equipment. Must be proficient with Laversab, Barfield, and IFR 6000 test equipment (or similar) and possess an acute understanding of pitot / static system and transponder certifications (91.411 / 91.413)
  • Must understand RVSM compliance
  • Must be proficient in the use of Daniel’s crimpers, various installation tools and techniques, and be able to conduct effective repair techniques using acceptable practices including splicing, soldering and pinning of wiring
  • Must have full comprehension of, and ability to use a multi-meter, understand electrical schematics, and fully understand basic electricity
  • Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls or structural installations and repairs
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an Avionics Certification Course

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years general aviation aircraft-related experience
  • Read, write, and understand the English Language with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Airframe Certificate or Previouslly held a Repairman Certificate is a plus.
