Aviation Director of Maintenance Job at Total Aviation Staffing, LLC – in St. Louis, MO

We’re currently looking for an experienced Director of Maintenance for one of our clients.

Salary Range: $90K up to $130K+ for the right, very experienced person

General Summary:
Effectively lead and direct both the service department teams to consistently deliver customer’s aircraft on time, on budget, and squawk-free while maintaining all quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Meet or exceed department goals and objectives for efficiencies, cost controls, and profitability.

Essential Job Functions:
Exhibit, support, and promote the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the company as well as our QCM and ISO procedures.

Deliver aircraft to the customer on time, on budget, and squawk-free on a continual basis by planning and organizing daily work schedules for maximum productivity

Assist in developing department budget and forecasting annual expected sales volume and profit in order to achieve department gross profit quota objectives

Utilize the work order process to streamline the workflow, maximize employee productivity, and guarantee accurate invoicing.

Manage the daily department activity and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures

On a daily basis, work with Sales and Project Managers to ensure proper communication with customer

Utilize the skills assessment tool to foster employee career development, establish shop capability goals and achieve shop-training standards

Work with HR to ensure that recruiting, selection, orientation, and training of new and existing employees is being performed to achieve maximum retention and career development.

Maintain department staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; plan, monitor, and appraising job results.

Communicate and display department and company goals & objectives and subsequent results to foster employee engagement in your departments. 11. Assist TechnicalSales with customer proposals, quotations, and necessary schedule flexibility as required to accommodate maximum labor utilization.

Work in conjunction with scheduling to ensure coordination of jobs with other departments to maximize capacities

Managers and above are required to review all processes in their areas of responsibility to achieve continuous improvement and growth

Job Specific Requirements:Licenses:
A&P License (mandatory)

IA Certification (recommended)

Thoroughly knowledgeable of FARs 43, 91, 135, and 145

Proven aircraft maintenance shop organizational and leadership skills Proven ability to communicate professionally and concisely to both team and superiors

Hands on PC Computer skills to include Windows, MS Office & E-mail Physical:

Regularly required to:
Sit, walk or stand

Talk and hear

Lift objects up to 10 pounds

Occasionally required to:
Climb or balance, kneel, stoop, crouch or crawl

Reach with hands or arms, grasp or pull

Lift up to 25 pounds

Will have limited exposure to:
Outside weather conditions and loud noises

Analyze and interpret the most complex documents

Respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints

Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top management, customers, and the general public

Education and Experience:
15 Years of Turbine/Turboprop aircraft/general aviation maintenance experience

10 years of aircraft maintenance supervisory/management experience

Associates degree in business management or equivalent management experience
