Associate Principal Systems Engineer Job at Animal Dynamics – in Oxford

Overview of the role

As an Associate Principal Systems Engineer, you will take the lead on the systems engineering activity on our Stork platform, managing functions, requirements and architecture to ensure the end design meets the Stakeholder expectations. You will work across the full range of technical areas through developing strong working relationships with the design engineers to influence designs and solve cross-domain issues.

Responsibilities… what will you do?

As Associate Principal Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:

Take the lead on progressing the Stork product family through design, development, test, verification and validation in accordance with the engineering life cycle processes

Create and manage the System description and behaviour through application of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) – training provided if required

Capture requirements from a range of sources including, existing specifications, standards, operators and management personnel

Support the Systems Engineering Manager to develop, improve and sustain processes as well as ensuring quality control of engineering processes across the teams.

Role model positive behaviours and support the development of other engineers.

Essential skills and experience… what are we looking for?

You will have the following skills and experience:
Good first degree or Masters in a relevant engineering discipline

Experience in a similar systems role in a relevant industry

Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems with an ability to apply a “Systems thinking” approach

Demonstrable ability to understand and formalise the functional structure of a complex system, and to weed-out inconsistencies

Experience of working with technical requirements, statements of work, integration, verification and validation, acceptance criteria

Awareness of ARP4754A practices

Desirable skills and experience:
Experience tailoring aviation standards and methods

Experience working directly with regulatory authorities to discuss means of compliance and analysis results

Knowledge and application of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

Experience with Unmanned Air Systems
